They evaluate sources, check facts, and sometimes interview experts and government officials. Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree, either in an area related to the organization’s work (such as commerce, public policy, or international relations), or in library or information studies.


Researchers who work independently usually have expertise in a particular industry, such as telecommunications or health care.  Excellent research, computer, and business skills.
 $48,000 to $84,000 a year. The median salary is about $70,000 a year; the highest level positions pay around $100,000 a year.Researchers work for banks, consulting companies, and corporations in many different areas of business. They usually work in offices and spend much of their time working on computers.
